Transportation

The mission of Linn County Transportation service is to provide safe, accessible and affordable door-to-door transportation for citizens who reside in Linn County.

What we do:
Transportation service is to doctor appointments only. Persons will be picked up from their home and returned.

  Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Scheduling a Ride:

Call Rebecca Patience at (913) 352-8873. Leave a message on the answering machine. Your call will be returned. Reservations are booked on a first call basis. A 24 hour advance notice is minimum. Re-scheduling may be necessary depending on availability.

Trip Schedules:
Monday & Friday: All locations in Linn County & surrounding counties.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: The greater Kansas City area.
Customers must have the street address of their destination when scheduling a ride

A suggested donation schedule is as follows:
  The greater Kansas City area: $20.00
  Counties surrounding Linn County: $10.00
  Trips within Linn County: No suggested fee

Wheelchairs:

We have one lift equipped van. If you have a wheelchair ramp, door-to-door service will be provided. If you do not have a ramp, you will need someone available to bring you down steps and to the curb for pick up. An escort may need to come with you to assist upon reaching your destination. No additional ride fare is required for a caregiver.

Seat Belts:

All passengers will be required to wear a seat belt at all times. Children age 4 & under will be required to have a qualified car seat which the parent must provide, otherwise service is denied. Children must have escorts.

Cancellations:

All cancellations must be made within 2 hours of the scheduled pick-up time. Call the transportation office or driver to cancel.

Linn County Transportation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origins or sex. If you feel you have been discriminated against, you have the right to file a complaint with Linn County.

Assistance is available for senior citizens with questions on wills, social security, power of attorney and other non-litigation matters. For scheduled dates and times contact the Nutrition Office: (913) 795-2279
